What is ISO 45001 Certification?

ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems. It defines how an organization creates safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health and by proactively improving OH&S performance.

An ISO 45001 certified OH&S management system provides a structured framework to identify and evaluate hazards, manage risks and opportunities, define roles and responsibilities and involve workers in the prevention and protection process.

Achieving ISO 45001 certification with CERTIFICATO IWZ – FZCO demonstrates that an independent, accredited certification body has assessed your OH&S management system and confirmed its conformity to the standard within a clearly defined scope.

Benefits of ISO 45001 Certification for Your Organization

Our ISO 45001 Certification Process

The ISO 45001 certification process follows a transparent and structured sequence of steps, fully aligned with international accreditation rules.

1

Information and proposal

You share key information about your activities, sites, workforce and OH&S risks. We prepare a formal ISO 45001 proposal, defining audit duration, audit team competence and the overall certification program.

2

Planning and Stage 1 audit

Once the proposal is accepted, we plan the audits and conduct Stage 1 to review your readiness, the OH&S management system documentation and the defined ISO 45001 scope.

3

Stage 2 certification audit

During Stage 2 we evaluate how the OH&S management system is applied in practice at the relevant sites, including hazard controls, worker participation and legal compliance evidence.

4

Findings and corrective actions

Audit findings, including any nonconformities, are presented and documented. Your organization identifies root causes, defines and implements corrective actions, and provides evidence of their effectiveness.

5

Certification decision

An independent decision-maker reviews the audit report and supporting evidence and decides whether to grant or maintain ISO 45001 certification for the defined scope.

6

Surveillance and renewal

Periodic surveillance audits and a renewal audit at the end of the certification cycle verify ongoing conformity and continual improvement of your OH&S management system.

The granting or maintenance of ISO 45001 certification is not automatic and is always subject to the successful outcome of audits and full compliance with our certification rules and applicable accreditation requirements.
